Discover Dayspring!

Dayspring partners with Cairn University in order to offer students the opportunity to begin to build their college transcript while completing high school.

Students who take dual credit courses can earn discounted college credits, so there is great potential for savings while further preparing students with college-level thinking and coursework. Cairn University is fully accredited, so student credits may be used there or transferred to other accredited colleges and universities. Not all colleges accept dual credit and/or Advanced Placement® scores, so students should check with their colleges of choice to be certain of their policies.

The dual credit relationship between our school and Cairn University gives our high school students the opportunity to earn college credit before they ever arrive on campus! These dual credit courses include:

  • General Chemistry 1 and General Chemistry 1 Lab (4 college credits)
  • English Composition (3 college credits)
  • Survey of British Literature (3 college credits)
  • Probability and Statistics (3 college credits)
  • Calculus 1 (3 college credits)
  • Calculus 2 (3 college credits)
  • Honors Psychology (3 college credits)
  • Biology 1 (3 college credits)
  • United States History II (3 college credits)

Every dual credit course is also an AP course with the exception of Honors Chemistry. AP Courses available are:

  • AP Statistics
  • AP Calculus AB
  • AP Calculus BC
  • AP 2-D Art and Design (Portfolio)

Students can pay for dual credits and take an AP exam in the same course with the idea that his/her college might accept one not the other. As previously stated, not all colleges accept dual credit and/or AP scores, so students should check with their colleges of choice to be certain of their policies.
